Let’s be honest, wash and gos have gotten a bad reputation. Now, I can’t say that there isn’t a reason for that. A good wash-and-go takes time to get right, but it truly doesn’t have to be scary or complicated.
If you are looking for a simple and quick wash and go, keep reading. A one-and-done wash and go can be the key to not feeling like doing your hair is daunting. As a reference, I have mostly 4B hair with a mix of looser curls in the front.
I discovered this was a great one-and-done product by accident and couldn’t be happier about it. This is a mousse so it isn’t going to provide too much hold, but you can always put a gel on top (which is still mostly one-and-done).
I usually use this mousse only on twist-outs to get more of a wash-and-go look, and what I really love about it is the volume that it provides. If you’re looking for a quick wash and go with maximum volume, go with this mousse.
This gel does not disappoint! It has an interesting consistency for a gel and a little goes a long way. The definition is out of this world and it doesn’t leave your hair with a cast so your curls will be soft and defined.
While it is on the pricier side, you do get a lot of bang for your buck, and the type of bottle that it comes in makes it easy to get the gel out.
Now hear me out, I know it may seem odd to suggest a cream for a one-and-done wash and go but this cream is unique. Not only does it leave curls feeling soft and looking shiny but it also creates great definition, even without doing a twist-out. I always feel like I get a great combination of both volume and definition when I use this for a one-and-done.
Layering on different products is timing-consuming. If you are in a time crunch but still want to achieve a great wash and go, a one-product-style is a great option. You’ll look like you had a full styling day, but it will be done in half the time!
